If you're missing something

  • Sugar syrup → Agave syrup — slightly sweeter, so use a little less
  • Sugar syrup → Honey — loosen with warm water first; adds its own flavour

Where it comes from

Prohibition-era, and claimed both by New York’s 21 Club and by Chicago’s South Side gangs, who supposedly needed mint and citrus to make rough gin palatable.
