If you're missing something

  • Triple sec → Cointreau or dry curaçao — the same category — Cointreau is the benchmark and worth the difference
  • Egg white → aquafaba (chickpea water) — about 15ml foams comparably and keeps the drink vegan

Where it comes from

Harry MacElhone’s, though his first version used crème de menthe. He reworked it with gin in the 1920s, which is the drink that survived.
